Application of optoelectronic integrated cable winch slip ring in marine engineering

Cable winch slip rings play an important role in offshore oil mines, surveys, and other fields. As a key component connecting rotating and stationary parts, the cable winch slip ring is not only responsible for the transmission of power and signals, but also must have reliability and durability. JINPAT designs hundreds of solutions for the marine engineering field every year, including countless slip rings applied to cable winches.

Taking JINPAT's new LPA000-0650-0210-01PE-FOO8 offshore slip ring as an example, the slip ring is mainly composed of a metal ring and corresponding brush wires. Its working principle is to transmit power and data without interruption during the contact between the metal ring and the wire. The metal ring and brush wire are made of highly conductive materials to ensure stable electrical performance even in high-speed rotation and high-voltage environments. In addition, the slip ring is equipped with supporting structures such as ball bearings to ensure smooth rotation and durability. The design of this slip ring fully considers factors such as temperature, power, and environment. It can operate normally in the temperature range of -20 ° C to+60 ° C, support working voltage up to 3000VAC, easily cope with various high load conditions, and ensure stable operation under extreme conditions at sea. Compared to ordinary cable winch slip rings, the new LPA000-0650-0210-01PE-FOO8 slip ring from JINPAT can also be transmitted through multiple high-voltage cables and 8-channel single-mode optical fibers.

One of the biggest advantages of cable winch slip rings is their maintenance free feature, which can greatly reduce the operation and maintenance costs of offshore operations. In marine environments, cable winch equipment is often exposed to moisture and water immersion conditions, and salt spray is highly corrosive to the equipment, which can easily cause damage to metal components. The slip rings of JINPAT cable winches are usually made of aluminum alloy or stainless steel as the shell, and then treated with special anti-corrosion materials and surface treatment processes to effectively resist the erosion of salt spray, thereby ensuring their long-term stability and reliability. At the same time, the slip ring must have excellent waterproof performance. JINPAT uses special sealing design and material selection to ensure that the protection level of the cable winch slip ring can reach IP66 or even higher. Before leaving the factory, the slip ring undergoes a series of rigorous waterproof and insulation withstand voltage tests.
